Papa Party World Tour Flies Into Washington DC
The world-famous Papa Party returns to Washington DC on October 18 for the second annual Superhero Underwear Party, produced by La Fantasy Productions. Taking place at Saint Yves (1220 Connecticut Ave NW), the event will feature Supa Papa himself, Eliad Cohen, along with DJ Alex Acosta and local gay party producer Q, aka Mother Fantasy, of La Fantasy Productions, celebrating his birthday.
The second annual Superhero Underwear Party is Papa Party’s second DC event. Papa debuted in the nation’s capital this spring at Karma DC. “Our theme for that first event was ‘Army of Love’ and the crowd really embraced it with hundreds of men arriving in camouflage fatigues and a wide range of military gear,” explains Q. “It was our largest event to date, and I learned DC partygoers are hungry for something different, unique and most important, fun; where they can express their wildest creativity. I’m excited to see what they come in wearing at the Superhero Underwear Party!”
“At Papa, we are working to redefine people’s expectations of what makes the best party in the world,” says Cohen. He launched the first Papa Party in 2011 at Tel Aviv Pride. Its combination of high-energy, progressive music, arranged by world-class DJs, with surprise performances interspersed throughout, made a profound impact on partygoers and the party soon gained a large international following.
“When Eliad was here last year at the ‘Army of Love’ party, we talked about doing something bigger,” Q continues. “If you enjoyed ‘Army of Love’ you’ll be overwhelmed by what we have in store for all the superheroes,” he promises.
Q is one of DC’s leading party producers. He is a military veteran who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.
He got his start in nightlife, bartending in New York and New Jersey when he was 18-years-old. At the same time, he was attending circuit festivals around the world and was inspired to recreate the pageantry for partygoers in DC.
“It’s all about creating a magical experience with exciting surprises that turn up the wow-factor and leave revelers craving for more,” he says.
His sold-out events are peppered with nightlife glitterati including transgender model Amanda Lepore and actress Dominique Jackson. “Our crowds continue to grow with guests coming from New York, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Miami, North Carolina, Delaware and even Canada! We strive to create a safe space where everyone from circuit professionals to newcomers feel welcome.”
He is excited about his partnership with Cohen and the Papa Party brand. “I see it as a way to get DC on the global party map!”
